6th Anniversary

Super pumped to be on Main Street

So Eric and I have been married for 6 years, that’s pretty awesome. This year we dragged our celebration out for like 2 weeks. We started with a small local hike and one night backpack trip that we had done once before back in 2015. We thought it would be an awesome way to spend our anniversary night, but it turned out to be way colder and way more intensely windy than we expected. Not… (more)

Banff

Lake Moraine selfie!

Eric and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary this year!! That’s pretty crazy and hard to believe actually. We had originally discussed flying to Cabo San Lucas or Puerto Vallarta to spend a few days doing nothing at an all-inclusive. But apparently we just aren’t those kinds of people. So instead we flew to Canada to visit the Canadian Rockies in Banff National Park. It was really a delightful trip. I won’t outline it like… (more)

Fairbanks

We felt super lucky to see these that night

Before I get into the nice long narrative of this trip, I wanted to say that it is bonkers to me that we’ve been at this for 10 years. TEN years. Eric and I started taking photos of our friends and our activities in September of 2005 and we have essentially archived our lives here since then. It’s awesome to have such a cool record of everything we’ve done together. Which remind me, the reason… (more)

4th Anniversary Weekend

To the right

Our 4th anniversary was maybe the most low key so far as we didn’t even spend a night away from home. I guess they can’t all be hot air balloons and helicopters! But we had a great time anyway. Friday, our actual anniversary, we had dinner out at a great tapas place in Mountain View and then went to a local observatory and looked through their telescope at the stars. So that was a pretty… (more)

Disney & Dunks

On top of the train station before park closing

Our anniversary this year sort of seemed to span 2 weekends. I guess that’s what happens when it’s in the middle of the week. In addition to spending last weekend on the coast, we had a nice dinner out to a wonderful Italian restaurant on our actual anniversary and exchanged gifts that night. The third anniversary is leather so we had gotten each other leather gifts. I got Eric a leather and glass case to… (more)

Costanoa

Pigeon Point Lighthouse

We celebrated our third anniversary a bit early this year since the holiday weekend was so early. We had booked 2 nights at a coastal resort called Costanoa, staying in a tent cabin that was a little different than anything else we had done. It had a heated blanket, which was awesome and appreciated. We actually started the weekend with a familiar bike ride to our favorite beach spot, though this was the first time… (more)

Hawaii

Posing with our pilot

It has been TWO years! Eric and I have been married for 2 years. Awesome. This year for our anniversary we planned a very relaxing trip to the island of Kauai. Neither of us had been to Hawaii before, so this was a great little trip to take that would be away from home, but not too far. Plus I am always excited when we get to add a pin to the map that was… (more)

First Anniversary Weekend

Balloon on its side

Tuesday, September 4, was our first wedding anniversary. It’s hard to believe we have been married a whole year already as it went by so quickly. In order to celebrate this occasion we spent the long Labor Day weekend up in wine country! We first drove up to Petaluma and had lunch at the Lagunitas Brewery. After checking into our hotel we drove over to Sonoma to check out their chocolate tasting bar and buy… (more)
